Opposition responds to another initiative of the ruling team regarding constitutional amendments. According to the Chairman of the Parliament Irakli Kobakhidze, by the decision of the parliamentary majority, the proportional system will be launched without bonus in 2024, and blocks will remain in 2020 .

According to the members of the opposition, the governing team has changed the draft constitution without agreement with the society. Today"s proposal, according to the opposition representatives, is destructive.

Zaza Bibilashvili, deputy chairperson of the political council of the "United National Movement" states that the offer is "another farce".

Levan Tarkhnishvili, member of the political council of "European Georgia - Movement for Freedom", states that this is "an acknowledgement."

"It is the acknowledgement that the system needs to be changed and on the other hand this is a recognition that the government is afraid to change the system in 2020," said Levan Tarkhnishvili.
