Prime Minister"s Speech in UN - Giorgi Kvirikashvili focused on the process of annexation of the occupied regions

"The Russian Federation continues to occupy two historic regions of Georgia, which violates many international obligations," -the Prime Minister of Georgia has addressed to the world leaders at the UN General Assembly Debates.

According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Moscow has intensified policy of annexation of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region and militarization of occupied territories,sets wire fences and limits freedom of movement of citizens living there.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili has thanked the world leaders for the support of Georgia"s territorial integrity and said that the country is implementing a ceasefire agreement, although Russia has not taken any steps in response yet.

The report of the Prime Minister of Georgia at the General Debates of the UN General Assembly focused on the success of Georgia in recent years. The statement was made about the amendments to the Constitution of Georgia.

According to the Prime Minister, the amendments are being implemented according to the European standards and new initiatives comply with recommendations of the Venice Commission.

During his speech, the Prime Minister has focused on economic projects, emphasized Georgia"s transient function, the role of the country in the Eastern and Western markets, contributing to the development of the region.
