Secret surveillance and refusal to issue Residence Permits- problems of Azerbaijan Citizens in Georgia were discussed

The problems of the Azerbaijani citizens in Georgia were discussed in the "Open Society" Foundation. At the meeting, a number of major problems that are encountered in the country were named ,such as secret surveillance, refusal to issue residence permits andcreating obstacles for entering the country.

Three non-governmental organizations have studied the problems of Azerbaijan civil activists in Georgia. The report icovered stories of six Azerbaijani citizens, including Afgan Makhtarali.

Today`s meeting was attended by his wife and Azerbaijani lawyer. The NGO that prepared the report urges the authorities to ensure the protection and security of foreign citizens on the territory of Georgia. Also, to timely investigate the cases of secret surveillance or threats.
