Another financial pyramid - depositors are demanding timely reaction from government

The depositors of the credit company "EuroCredit" are asking for help from the state and call on the law enforcers to investigate the case in timely. "EuroCredit" has about 300 victims, and the amount lost by the people is GEL 4 million.

Ketevan Kakhitashvili, the owner of the company, said that the crisis started after the bankruptcy of financial company "Georgia", which caused panic in depositors and several dozen people wanted to withdraw money from her company immediatly. Now she requests from the investigating agency the return of documentation and pledges to pay the victims the full compensation.

However, the depositors do not believe in it and say that Kakhitashvili has cheated them and asks to return the funds. Their lawyers askto recognize the citizens as victims and investigate the case in time.

Experts think that for the prevention of such problems, the state must tighten the approach and such business activity should be considered a criminal offense, so that other people do not want to create such a business model.

The activities of similar companies are not under the supervision of the National Bank, and therefore the Bank has the right to provide information and warnings only to the public.

Financial Police say that the investigation launched 3 months ago continues, interrogation of witnesses and revision of documentation is ongoing.
