Political parties are expected at the President`s administration at 4:00 pm.. All parties, including the parliamentary majority, are invited to Giorgi Margvelashvili, but the ruling team offers a separate face -to-face meeting to the President.
The communication between the parliamentary majority and the president"s administration has taken place but the format is not yet known yet.
"The majority offered the president to hold a meeting in such a format, we hope that this meeting will be held. I know that there is a communication between the President and the majority, and I hope they will agree on the time and format of the meeting. We proposed to the President that the right of veto should be exercised in accordance with the leadership of the parliament and the Venice Commission. The case concerns two issues - removal of the bonus system for undiistributed mandates from the new edition and leaving the election blocks for 2020. If the President uses veto in this way, it will be the most correct step in our view.
"As to the format of a general meeting, this meeting will not be productive. in general, discussions regarding the constitution are over We were critized because we were blamed that we hastily prepared the document, while the President and the so-called 20 parties, I say so-called because there aren`t 20 parties in Georgia at all, wrote a new constitution in three-four days, "- Kobakhidze said.
Regarding the journalist`s question whether Irakli Kobakhidze will meet with the President, he stated that if the meeting was oriented on the results, it is possible to hold such a meeting at any time.
Speaker of Parliament, Archil Talakvadze, Leader of the Parliamentary Majority, will present the ruling team at the meeting with the President.
"We have a formalized structure, formalized procedures. The majority is presented by the leader of the majority and consequently he must lead the meeting of the majority with the president , " - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
Davit Matikashvili, a member of the parliamentary majority, said that the president should play a positive role at the final stage of adoption of constitutional amendments.
