A session of the Batumi City Council is underway in the background of heated debates. The issue of handing the coastal line of Batumi Botanical Garden and a part of the land on the Green Cape to the company " Business development" which is linked to Bidzina Ivanishvili

They discuss handing about 6 thousand square kilometers of the Botanical Garden territory and 500 sq.m land plot as well.

According to the opposition, the City Hall plans to lease the land for 50 years with the consent of the Adjara government.

Members of United National Movement have been demanding to remove the issue from the agenda. According to them, registration of these land plots in the Public Registry was carried out this morning and Batumi City Council gathered after this act, which is a serious violation.

Goga Lomadze, the head of the Property Management and Economic Policy Department of Batumi City Hall, confirms that the part of the sea coastline territory should be transferred to "Business Development" free of charge but not in possession, but for maintenance.
