Members of the Supreme Council of Abkhazia and Special Forces who have been killed on the day of the fall of Sokhumi, will be buried at the military cemetery after 24 years. The body of Irakli Alasania`s father, Security Colonel Mamia Alasania has been identified. Mamia Alasania was shot dead by Abkhazian separatists together with Zhiuli Shartava on September 27 on the day of the fall of Sokhumi.

Sokhumi Mayor Guram Gabeseria and the bodies of 23 fighters, who have already been identified, will be transferred as well.

National heroes - Guram Gabeskeria, the mayor of Sokhumi, Colonel Mamia Alasania and 23 other identified fighters will be buried at the military cemetery on 17th of October.

The victims were found in Abkhazia in Sokhumi, in the village of iashtukho, in a common cemetery.
