The Minister of Justice summarized the 5-year activity of the Citizenship Issues Commission. According to Tea Tsulukiani, more than 30 000 people applied to the Ministry of Georgia for the last 5 years, where the Ministry has issued positive recommendations in the case of 23,000 persons.

According to the minister, the president has not signed the applications sent in recent weeks. A large number of citizenship seekers are persons who have emigrated from Georgia.

"Two different presidents have adopted different types of decisions from 2013 towards the positive recommendations we have sent and conclusions about granting, but there were instances, especially in the last weeks when the President of Georgia turns down the positive conclusions we have issued and no longer grants Georgian citizenship to persons born in our country. New criteria remain unknown to us, "- Tea Tsulukiani said.
