The Parliamentary Majority has responded to a joint statement made by Georgian NGOs, which alleged that the government was "pressuring them".
"We have had cases of mutual criticism of NGOs earlier as well. I think we speak too much on that. I have never heard criticism of this sector from any governmental branches." stated MP Gigla Agulashvili.
Giorgi Gabashvili, a member of the parliamentary minority, contradicted Agulashvili"s statement, stating that former PM Bidzina Ivanishvili has decided to control the non governmental sector.
