A few hours before the opening of the polling stations Irakli Bardzimadze, the mayoral candidate of "National Movement" was physically assaulted in Akhaltsikhe. The representative of the opposition insists that he was beaten by the members of the Georgian Dream when he was taking picture of the office of the Georgian Dream. The party members asked him to delete the picture.

Bardzimadze says that he was beaten by Gia Baliashvili, son of Zviad Baliashvili, the candidate of "Georgian Dream". This incident was preceded by an argument between them.

The ruling party denies any kind of physical confrontation. "Georgian Dream" claims that it is a povokation of the "National Movement".
