Ten Georgians and one citizen of Iran died as a result of fire in Batumi

In the hotel "Leogrand" in Batumi, 11 people died as a result of the fire, including 10 citizens of Georgia and one citizen of the Republic of Iran as the statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs states.

According to the agency, 21 people neede hospitalization. . After initial medical care, it was determined that their lives are not in danger. Three patients have already been discharged from medical institution and the rest are distributed to different clinics of Batumi. One of the injured is the firefighters of the Emergency Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. All injured are under medical surveillance.

"The fire emergency rescue teams of the Emergency Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs immediately joined the rescue operation in the process of fire fighting in the hotel" Leogrand "and in the rescue operation in Batumi.

According to the press service of the Ministry, the fire emergency rescue teams of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the rescuers of the building were instantly involved in the process of fire fighting in the hotel Leo Grand. The rescue operation involved 17 fire-rescue group, 120 firefighter-rescues, and about 200 police officers of the Adjara, Guria and Samegrelo regions,
Investigation is in progress under the article 243 Part III of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
