At the sitting of the Legal Committee, opposition members asked Eva Gotsiridze questions about Rustavi 2 case. The opposition claims that the candidacy of Eva Gotsiridze as a judge of the Constitutional Court is unacceptable.

"You are , in fact, the political weapon in the hands of the Georgian Dream within the court system. Do you think today that the decisions of the Courts issued on Rustavi 2 are in compliance with the Constitution? "said Irakli Abesadze ,a member of the "European Georgia ".

Eva Gotsiridze answered the question of the member of the opposition. She also spoke about the decision made by the European Court on Rustavi 2 case .

"The rigorous criticism and demonization of judges was being conducted that was beyond the scope of any normal criticism that could have been allowed in a democratic society. I reminded everyone that the journalist and everyone should observe those responsibilities and standards that are inherent for freedom of expression. As for your statement, that the Strasbourg Court confirmed the lawlessness of the decision on Rustavi 2. This is not the case. Essentially, it has not considered the case yet. I thought it was a very dangerous precedent that the decision on the civil case was suspended. When the two sides are involved ,the suspension always means a decision in favor of one party which would enable in the future to a large number of parties to address Strasbourg with similar requests, thus leading cause to massive disruption of the administration of justice, "- said Eva Gotsiridze.
