Zviad Devdariani, the head of the non-governmental organization CiDA, withdraws his candidacy from the Board of Trustees of the Public Broadcaster.

His candidacy was nominated by the Public Defender Nino Lomjaria.

Zviad Devdariani explained the reasons for the withdrawal of the candidacy.

"During the whole night, my family and organization personnel were pressured and blackmailed which was continued today by the statement made by the Women"s Movement, which damages my reputation, destroys my family, threatens the Public Defender and the entire civil sector.

"Today"s statement is directly related to the support of my candidacy by the Public Defender, which was a chance to have a politically impartial, independent and qualified person in the council.

"Given the fact that I received a direct message from women`s groups to withdraw my candidacy, otherwise an open letter would be realesd , I believe that this is a targeted blackmail," Zviad Devdariani said in his address.

He iresponed to the statement of women"s movement Women"s movement accuses Devdariani of sexual harassment
