The case concerns the initiative of the ruling team, according to which penalties are declined or canceled connected to asset declarations of officials.
Three NGOs claim that the proposal is directly contrary to the goals of Georgia"s anti-corruption policy and international commitments.
Representatives of NGOs believe that the change will deprive of sense the system of monitoring of declarations that was launched last year and was the most important anti-corruption reform in recent years.
"It is a very dangerous and annoying initiative because it deals with the system of monetoring of declarations that started last year. This will increase the risks of corruption, weaken our anti-corruption policy and in addition directly contradict a number of international commitments that have been taken by the Georgian government, "- said Erekle Urushadze, representative of Transparency International-Georgia.
