NATO Navy ships will remain in Poti port until 18 May and will participate in joint exercises and demonstrations organized by the Georgian side. The vessels of Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and Great Britain entered the port of Poti yesterday. Today, the sides held a joint press conference on the Turkish ship, where NATO-Georgia maritime cooperation issues were summarized.
"In political terms this expresses NATO"s clear support towards Georgia. At the same time it has a practical purpose, because visit involves joint exercises. Along with Coast Guard ships, which involve joint maneuvers and various aspects of the law enforcement operation, "said Temur Kekelidze, head of the maritime police.
