It is already known that two rallies will be held in Tbilisi on May 17th. From 11:30 minutes, the Patriarchate begins a rally from Rustaveli to Sameba Cathedral. At 19:00 the movement of Equality holds a rally on Transphobia and Homophobia Day.
Giorgi Tabagari, the representative of the Equality Movement, said they would not hold the march in order to avoid possible confrontation among citizens.
Tabagari urges law enforcers to protect the rights of all citizens who will arrive at a rally on the day of fighting against homophobia.
"We will not physically come across these people at the chancellery, we will have a peaceful action and we hope that the police will take care of the security of each citizen who will attend our rally.
"In this case, direct responsibility lies with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the forces that will take care of the security of the rally," said Giorgi Tabagari, a representative of the Equality Movement.
