"What happened one year ago was a black spot in the history of Georgia in recent years," said former Public Defender Ucha Nanuashvili about kidnapping of Afgan Mukhtarli.

Nanuashvili was on the rally in support of the Azerbaijani journalist, which was held in Tbilisi at the parliament building.

The protesters demanded the liberation of Mukhtarli with black plastic bags on their heads.

According to the former Public Defender, the case has damaged Georgia"s international image.
