Speaking at the International Conference on the Freedom of Religion in Washington, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Georgia spoke about the facts of violation of human rights in the occupied regions of Georgia by the Russian Federation and its occupation regimes, including religious freedom.
Davit Zalkaliani urged the international community to react to the facts of violation of international law and fundamental human rights by the Russian Federation.
"Special emphasis was placed on the situation in terms of limiting freedom of religion in the occupied territories. The problems that ethnic Georgians have in this regard.
I mentioned in the speech that the clergy and the parish are not allowed to attend religious rituals and face serious problems in this regard.
