On the second day of the protest rally participants say that the government used the riot police to intimidate local population in Svaneti.

According to them, the riot police intended to put pressure on the population in Chuberi to make the locals to give consent to the construction of giant hydroelectric power plants.
At today"s negotiations it was decided that next week a government commission will visit Svaneti to study the problems of the local population.

After a noisy confrontation, the central motorway was opened in Svaneti last night after only several hours of negotiations.
