According to the Emergency Management Service, the threat caused by the collapse of ice in Mestia has been lifted.
In this connection, the Emergency Situations Management Service has released the first photo material from the place where the ice ripped off the Lekhziri glacier.
According to the agency, the water level is gradually reduced and there is no longer a threat to the adjacent territories at this stage.
Representatives of the Emergency Management Service and all relevant agencies remain in place.
"The situation is subject to control. No life and health of any citizen is in danger, "- the information says.
However, a part of Mestia villages still can not return home.
The locals say that only a small part of the water flow from the riverbed creates a threat that mudflows and marshes may flood the villages.
Residents of Mestia say that the reason for ice melting is the construction of the HPP, which, in their opinion, will put Mestia into an ecological catastrophe.
