Archpriest"s lawyers, who has been accused in the case of the century, are demanding the president to pardon Giorgi Mamaladze . In order to change the legal status of Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze, his lawyers use the last opportunity inside the country.

They are asking the President of Georgia to pardon the priest convicted for the preparation of the murder of Shorena Tetruashvili, the secretary of the Patriarch.

The attorneys of the clergy have passed the arguments and case materials to the president"s administration. They hope that Giorgi Margvelashvili will make a fair decision before the expiration of the presidential term and will release Archpriest Mamaladze from illegal imprisonment.

The lawyers argue that the priest is a political prisoner.

Archpriest"s lawyers will have to go through various procedures. According to the chairperson of the Pardon Commission, they are waiting for a written confirmation of the clergy person first and afterwards the hearing will be held at the next sitting of the Commission.

The Archpriest"s lawyers addressed the president wth a request for pardon again after it became known that the Supreme Court did not accept their suit.

The lawyers are convinced that the Supreme Court judges did not get acquainted with the case materials and their suit was inadmissible due to pressure.
The Supreme Court is the last instance whose answer the cleric and his lawyers were waiting in Georgia. Considertion of Giorgi Mamaladze"s case will continue in Strasbourg Court.
