This is the response of the General Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health on accusations of high officials of the Russian Ministry of Defense, in which the Kremlin accused Georgia of producing biological weapons.

Amiran Gamkrelidze claims that the Lugar Laboratory is a high-level scientific research center in the region and has a multilateral purpose. According to him, Russia deliberately spreads false information.

"All the information that the Russian official media spread is false. In fact, Lugar"s lab is a high level public health and scientific research center in the region, which has a multilateral purpose. First of all itis aimed at detection of infectious diseases and early identification of agents, "- he stated.

Amiran Gamkrelidze responded to the documents submitted by the Russian side as evidence. According to him, most of these documents are available on the public and posted on the website of the Ministry of Health.

"You can see most of this documents on the website of our ministry, except for a few personal conversations that have been obtained in various ways," said Amiran Gamkrelidze.
