Firefighters remain on the Eliava market, where the fire broke out this morning. Reportedly nearly 800 square meters of land is burnt.

The fire broke out at the wood manufactory at 07:00.

No one was injured as a result of the incident. It is unknown what has caused the fire.

"At this moment ten units of fire rescue teams are mobilized. They are still working because there are so many wooden items inside," says Mamuka Khirimeli, the deputy head of the Tbilisi Main Division of Emergency Management Agency.

The victims say that they are not able to see their own shop but suppose that a damage can reach tens of thousands of GEL.

Employees say that the electricity lines could not cause the fire, because the electricity is turned off all night.

According to the victims, except for materials, timber processing machines are burned.
