Former Chief Prosecutor Otar Partskhaladze has been charged - credible source tells "Courier" that "Georgian Dream" being in the political crisis held consultations with the former Chief Prosecutor and talked him in for a short period of imprisonment. After a number of scandals lately, part of the "Dream" leaders named Partskhaladze"s short-term imprisonment as one of the means of overcoming the crisis.

The former chief prosecutor was charged with alleged beating of former general auditor Lasha Tordia in "El-centro". It is unknown what Article the case was launched under.

According to the "Courier", the prosecutor"s office will release a statement today. However, yesterday when Partskhaladze was in the police station, the MIA did not say anything about the charge and explained that his interrogation was only part of the investigative process. Lasha Tordia"s lawyers are planning to make a statement today.
