First Deputy Minister of Culture and Sport of Georgia makes a statement about the closure of the Jvari Monastery. Mikheil Giorgadze calls emotional the decision of the head of the church.
According to him, the Cultural Heritage Protection Agency, along with Municipal Development Fund, is working on the relevant infrastructural project that will facilitate the settlement of the situation.
It is also planned to be transfer trading to a new place. The temple has been closed for the third day at the decision of its leader,
"The environment is not suitable for the situation in the Jvari Monastery. Together with the local municipality, we will determine the place where we will move the traders. I would call this decision of the church leader to be emotional", - Giorgadze said.
