Discrimination and restriction of right of expression - LGBT activists complain in Strasbourg

The LGBT activists addressed the European Court of Human Rights on the issue of banning of bringing LGBT symbols to Dinamo Arena.
Organization "Equality Movement" requires that the Government of Georgia be recognized as a violator of Articles 11 and 14 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which implies freedom of expression and discrimination.
The case concerns a football match on Dinamo stadium in Tbilisi on September 9, 2018 when the MIA employees did not allow LGBT activists to put the appropriate symbols into the stadium and express their gratitude to Guram Kashia.
The authors of the suit claim that police officers exceeded their powers, as flags and posters were not a threat to anyone.
"We demand that the Government of Georgia be aware of the violations of Articles 11 and 14 of the European Convention on Human Rights, or to determine that the Georgian authorities have violated the freedom of expression of these 9 applicants," said Nino Bolkvadze of the Equality Movement.
