Another noisy sitting in the legislative body - Vice-Speaker of the Parliament called Emzar Kvitsiani`s legislative initiative discriminatory.
Emzar Kvitsiani demands amendments to the law on discrimination adopted by the Parliament . He says that two terms "sexual orientation" and "gender identity"should be removed from the law.
"Many countries in the West have paid high price for such behavior and mentality, it should be taken into account that Georgia is in very poor demographic condition, according to UN studies, as the nation it is on the verge of extinction, the traditional family should be protected," Kvitsiani said.
He decided to read the words of the Patriarch from the parliamentary tribune.
The confrontation began after the Vice-Speaker of Parliament, called on Kvitsiani for ethical conduct due to the views expressed in the process of discussing the initiative and said
that his proposals as well as his initiative were discriminatory.
"You have no right to make discriminatory statements. I am not astonished that you are unable to do that because your entire initiative is totally discriminatory. Try a little bit to express your views on your initiative ethically . As a leader of the session, I remember the law requirements, I did not support it at the Human Rights Committee and Idid it rightly, "Chugoshvili told the MP of the Patriots Alliance.
After this phrase, other members of the Patriots Alliance got involved in the confrontation with Tamar Chugoshvili.
Ada Marshania accused Tamar Chugoshvili of aggression and discrimination against opponents.
