Davit Bagration-Mukhrani has left the country. His lawyer says no one will see the King headed for interrogation to the police headquarters.
Davit Bagrationi left for Spain after the police started investigating the fact of alleged beating of Queen Anna Bagration-Gruzinsky.
Davit Bagrationi`s lawyer claims that the king is a victim of persecution in the country.
"I would like to tell you openly, I had a conversation with my client and our society will not see Davit Bagrationi walking up the stairs of the police city division. This is a shame and unlike Anna Gruzinski, he has not lost the sense of shame and self-esteem.
"Of course he will not be cooperating with the investigation against himself, he is not obliged to give testimony, it is his constitutional right and he will benefit from this constitutional right," said the lawyer.
Levan Chkheidze says that Davit Bagration-Mukhraneli"s departure to Spain is not related to the ongoing investigation because he would not cooperate with the investigative body even if he was in the country. According to the lawyer, if the investigation will be file charges against Davit Bagrationi, this will be a political persecution.
"It will be a political persecution and in this case my client will demand a political asylum abroad," Chkheidze said.
