The Public Defender sees signs of discrimination in the dismissal of producer Maia Stephanadze from TV company "Imedi" - Nino Lomjaria said after the meeting with Stephanadze.
Public Defenders Office has already begun to study the case. In the nearest future Public Defender"s representative plan to request documentation from Imedi. It is not ruled out to hold a meeting with the channel"s leadership.
"We need to request and study appropriate documentation from the other side, but at this stage there is a feeling that there may be discrimination on the grounds of political opinion or freedom of expression," said Nino Lomjaria.
Maia Stepanadze is not going to stop and will try to defend her rights in court.
Producer Maya Stepanadze says she was fired from the TV company "Imedi" for a Facebook post. According to her, the reason for the dismissal from the job was the post in the social network, where Maia Stepanadze criticized the government for the special operation in Pankisi.
