NGOs accuse members of the High Council of Justice of violating the Law on Common Administrative Code and Common Courts. It is about concealing information on the candidates to the Supreme Court judges.
Representatives of civil society say that the council members deliberately have hidden the information. According to them, the information about the candidates for the judges of the Supreme Court should be public according to the legislation in order to make the process transparent and to know the biographical background of the participants of the competition.
"The Council of Justice has refused to provide this information and there is an impression that they are hiding this information since they do not want the public to get information on the candidates nominated for the judiciary of the Supreme Court. Of course, this is illegal, "said Gvantsa Tsulukidze, a representative of the Georgian Democratic Initiative.
