The 44th day of protest on Rustaveli Avenue - in the center of the capital, continues in the format of the TV program. A special studio in front of the Parliament hosted Elene Khoshtaria and David Usupashvili yesterday. The main topic of the program was the prosecution of Nika Gvaramia.
Politicians say the investigation launched against the former director general of Rustavi 2 is a personal retaliation for Bidzina Ivanishvili, who is now reflecting on the announcement of the creation of a new television station. Elene Khoshtaria, a member of the European Georgia, is convinced that the government is trying to intimidate the population by persecuting opponents.
“This is one variety of repression, obviously. The authorities decided not to bear responsibility for what they do, but to scare the population in different directions. The Georgian Dream hates Nika Gvaramia, I think no one denies it. This is an attempt to demonstrate force, but such a government is comical, ”Khoshtaria said.
Davit Usupashvili, chairman of the Movement for rebuilding, made a statement regarding Rustavi 2.
"Unfortunately, since 2004 Rustavi 2 has been in a very difficult legal situation with its constituents and so now many problems have arisen and it is clear that there is something unequivocal about personal inadmissibility, when it comes to arresting, summoning, other people, opponents," Usupashvili said.
