Railway tunnel workers have quit their jobs in Kvishkheti. The two-day talks failed. About 60 Georgian workers refused to work. They demanded from the Chinese Railway Department contractor to increase the daily fee of GEL 20 to 30 and to comply with safety standards.
However, the company did not meet their demands, forcing them to resign. In Kvishkheti the railway tunnel workers were on strike.
“The talks, as usual, ended in vain, they didn"t make contact, they didn"t leave the room at all. We stopped our protest and massively quit our jobs, ”said one employee.
