Nika Gvaramia delivered a public lecture on Media Environment today to listeners of the New Leaders Initiative. The schoolchildren are from different regions of Georgia and their seminars are conducted by both foreign and Georgian specialists.
The trainings are about occupation, media freedom, social media. The summer school has a total of 500 trainees and their training will be delivered in five stages.
"How can we cheat on these kids and give up on a democratic, western country so they can run and become a cool country too. It is our debt to bring these children into the country they deserve, Western and democratic," - Nika Gvaramia said.
Christina Pashou, founder of the School for New Leaders Initiative, says visitors from different countries today spoke to students about the role of Russian propaganda in the media.
“Speakers coming from different countries and talk about the role of Russian propaganda in the media and how it affects Georgia. I think it is interesting for Georgian students to hear from the field leader. I think they will understand that media freedom is the most important thing for democracy, because if there is no freedom of opinion and expression, then there is no democracy,” - Pashou said.
