Dimitri Gvritishvili appeals to the President to terminate the authority of non-judge member Ana Dolidze

The High Council of Justice appeals to President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili to terminate the authority of non-judge member Ana Dolidze.

Dimitri Gvritishvili presented the appeal to the members of the council. He names Dolidze’s engagement in political activities as the legal basis for the appeal. Gvritishvili explains that it is incompatible with the status of a member of the High Council of Justice.

According to Gvritishvili, Dolidze has repeatedly made political statements and calls, including demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia.

The letter sent to the President by members of the council says that "Ana Dolidze has systematically violated the ethics of the public servant and her actions are aimed not only at discrediting the judiciary but also damaging the important state institution - the President of Georgia, who appoints her to the position.”

As for another non-judge member, Nazi Janezashvili, she did not comment on this issue today. But she said that a member of the High Council of Justice was not allowed to make political statements by law.
