Bidzina Ivanishvili, the chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream party and his wife Ekaterine Khvedelidze met with Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II. The Patriarchate released a statement on this meeting.

According to it, “Ivanishvili discussed the latest events, which caused well-known irresponsible accusations and great anxiety in the society. As it was said at the meeting, such acts are not the attack only on church, but on the state too.

Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II paid particular attention to the ongoing situation and the challenges Georgia facing today”.

Catholicos-Patriarch thanked the chairman of the ruling and his wife Ekaterine Khvedelidze for the visit and blessed them.
