Ambassador of Georgia to Turkey Giorgi Janjghava published the photos of the newly-discovered grave of Gurji Khatun and her son.
“I am very glad that the remains are already sent to the expertise. I am sure that Georgia-Turkey common cultural heritage will generate big interest in the public.
I am also very pleased that the bones found in the tomb have already been sent for examination. I am sure that Georgia-Turkey common cultural heritage will be of great interest to the public”, - wrote Giorgi Janjghava on Facebook.
Gurji Khatun was the daughter of Georgian King Rusudan and the grandchild of prominent Georgian King Tamar. In 1236, she became the wife of sultan Kaykhusraw II.
