37 detainees - the trial of part of the detainees will be held today

According to the MIA, during yesterday’s rally, 37 people were arrested and 6 people were injured. Including 4 protesters and 2 law enforcers. Among those detained are leaders of various parties and rally organizers.

Zurab Japaridze, the leader of the political organization Girchi, was released yesterday on the basis of a handwriting. The rest of the detainees were taken to pre-trial detention. Among them was UNM member Irakli Nadiradze and a lawyer Beka Basilaia.

The trial of the detainees will be held in the city court this morning. They are accused of disobedience and hooliganism.

The detainees’ rights defenders demand the release of their clients without any financial penalty.
