“I call upon de facto authorities in South Ossetia to immediately release Dr. Gaprindashvili, a medical doctor performing and fulfilling his oath as a doctor to provide medical assistance to people who today live in an area where adequate medical care is not available. Free Dr. Gaprindashvili”, - Former President of Estonia stated.
Germany also shares Estonia"s position.
“We support the statement made by the Estonian Foreign Ministry on the release of Vazha Gaprindashvili, a Georgian doctor”, - wrote German Foreign Ministry Special Representative for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia Michael Siebert.
Gaprindashvili, who was illegally detained by Russian occupation forces near the occupation line with Akhalgori Municipality, has been sent to two-month pretrial detention.
