The administration of the President has finished working on the new Pardoning Rule

The administration of the President has finished working on the new Pardoning Rule.

According to the statement, released by the administration, new rules set up the criteria of pardoning procedures for felonies and misdemeanors.
“The consultations about the elaboration of new rules on pardoning procedures were held with state agencies and experts.
It should be mentioned that the administration will introduce a special electronic program for pardoning cases until January 1, 2021. New rules set up the criteria of pardoning procedures for felonies and misdemeanors.
Depending on the Pardoning Rules, the President will use her power in special and distinguished cases, which will significantly reduce the number of pardons.
The pardon is based on the principle of humanism and the Government’s interest, and it is not a mechanism to remedy the shortcomings of the court.
Before making a final decision to pardon inmates, the President will once again consult with relevant state agencies and field experts on each case”, - reads the statement.
