Police officer detained for raping young man

A police officer has been detained in Chkhorotsku in connection with the alleged rape of 34 years old man.

As Kurieri was told by the Prosecutor’s Office, the police officer was detained yesterday and he will be charged later.

According to the Prosecutor"s Office, the investigation is in progress under the first part of article 137 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, a rape case.

The crime is punishable by imprisonment for the term of 6 to 8 years.
