More than 9 million international visits were made for the first time in Georgia’s history in 2019. Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Head of the National Tourism Administration, said in her 2019 report.
According to her, 9.3 million international travelers have already arrived in Georgia by December 27, 2019. The increase is +7.1% compared to the same period of the 2018 year.
As for the tourist visits, 5 million tourists visited Georgia, which is 6.8% more than the same period of the 2018 year.
International travel income was 3.051.424.548 USD in January-November 2019. The increase is +35 million USD compared to the same period of 2018 year.
According to Natia Turnava, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, despite the challenges, Georgia has hosted a record number of international travelers.
“Despite all the challenges, we have hosted a record number of international travelers. This is more than 9 million 300,000 international travelers who visited Georgia in 2019.
This is a great achievement made possible by the coordinated work of the Government, the private sector and international organizations”, - said Natia Turnava.
