Pridon Kantaria, 65, accused of raping a physically challenged woman, has been sentenced to imprisonment.

A Judge at the Zugdidi Regional Court approved the prosecutor’s motion.
The police have also taken preventative measures to avoid possible vengeance by the victim’s relatives against the defendant’s relatives by detaining three more individuals.
The accused himself does not plead guilty. His lawyer does not speak to the media about the details of the case. A 65-year-old man was arrested at his home two days ago for a crime he committed a few months ago. The victim and the accused are neighbors.
