According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), Georgian gross domestic product (GDP) grew 3.8% in December 2019 compared to the same period of last year. An average estimated real GDP growth equaled 5.2% for 2019, according to the Statistics Office of Georgia.

“In December 2019 the estimated real growth compared to the same period of the previous year was posted in the following activities: manufacturing, transport and storage, wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, hotels and restaurants. A decrease was registered in construction”, - said the Executive Director of the Office Gogita Todradze.

Georgian external trade turnover increased to $12.83 billion (2.7% higher y/y) in January-December 2019 show preliminary data from the Geostat.
