A record number of travelers and tourists visited Georgia in January. Visits by international travelers who came to Georgia amounted to 633,201 in January 2020, which is 19.8% more compared to the same period of 2019.

According to the Georgian National Tourism Administration, out of the total number of visits by international travelers, 523,689 (19.8% increase) were carried out by international visitors, defined as visits of people who are over the age of 15 and travel for less than 1 year.

In the first month of 2020, out of international visits, tourist-type visits (visits of people who stayed in Georgia for at least 1 night) accounted for 363,614 (an 18.9% increase).
