The first cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Argentina and Chile

Argentina and Chile both said they had confirmed their first case of the novel coronavirus in patients who recently returned from travels.

A 43-year-old infected Argentine man had returned from Italy on March 1, while a 33-year-old Chilean man had spent a month in southeast Asia.

The number of coronavirus deaths worldwide has risen to 3 203. More than 93 000 people are infected. According to the latest data, the number of recovered exceeds 50 000.

In the last 24 hours, 38 people died from the virus in China.

More than 5 000 people have been infected in South Korea, with 33 dead.
