The crew of a ship sailing under the Marshall Islands’ flag, which has recently entered the Poti City port, has been banned from leaving the ship as one of its members is suffering from a high fever.
According to the Maritime Transport Agency, he has been provided with due medical assistance onboard the vessel.
“On March 6, in the morning, a cargo ship called IBERIAN BULKER sailing under the Marshall Islands’ flag entered the Poti port, with it leaving the Tunis harbor Bizerte. In accordance with the COVID-19-related stiffer regulations, the captain provided us with information on the health conditions of the crew 48 hours before the ship entered the port.
The information said that one of the sailors has suffered from high fever since February, 5. Despite the other 19 members not showing any symptoms, they are forbidden to leave the vessel”, - reads the statement.
