We expect to receive additional 2 000 antigen tests - Tamar Gabunia

Currently, there are 4 000 antibody tests and 2 000 rapid antigen tests in Georgia. Such a statement made today the Deputy Minister of Health Tamar Gabunia.

She added that each clinic has a laboratory that will carry out primery testing and positive results will be checked at Lugar Laboratory.

“Currently, we have 4 000 antibody tests measuring the level of certain immunoglobulin M and G. There are 2 000 rapid antigen tests, too, which use analyzer reader device.

Besides, we expect to receive additional 2 000 antigen tests in the nearest future, which can be performed without an analyzer and can be easily used by clinics. Each clinic has a separate laboratory that will carry out control testing. In this case, initially we will have to use the quality control mechanism by checking the positive results through PCR testing”, - concluded Tamar Gabunia.
