Police detained two persons as a result of special operative activities. Based on the decision of the court, law enforcers detained: J.I. (date of birth - 1973) and G.Ts. (1986) for membership of the “Criminal World” and participation in “criminal skirmishes”. Committed crime envisages from 7 to 10 years of imprisonment.

Investigation established that on March 12, detainees held the so called criminal skirmish with one of the company owners extracting manganese ore to force him pay 30% of the company’s profit.

Investigation also established that detainees planned to send part of the extorted cash to the criminal authorities.

As a result of the search activities held on the basis of the respective court decision, law enforcers seized mobile phones and computer software by mans of which detainees contacted others involved in the mentioned crime.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of participation in criminal skirmish and membership of the “thieves’ world” article 2 231 and article 2 232 envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.

As a result of the joint operative-investigative activities held by General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and General Prosecutor’s office, inspector-investigator of Tchiatura regional division was also detained on the basis of the court decision.

M.B. is accused of the power abuse under the article 3 321 envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
