The Cartu Fund and Bidzina Ivanishvili have been donating billions to charity for years in the country and for me, as head of the Government, this constitutes additional proof that we have a unique insurance in the country in the form of a person, a citizen of Georgia. This person and this fund provide assistance wherever systemic assistance is needed. Such a statement made the Prime Minister of Georgia while commenting Bidzina Ivanishvili’s donation of 100 million GEL to the StopCoV Fund.

“Of course, these funds will be primarily used for the benefit of our citizens, in the fight against COVID-19. When we talk about COVID-19, we need to understand that we are fighting on two fronts - those of healthcare and the economy. All the resources that will be mobilized will be used to achieve this goal. Cartu and Bidzina Ivanishvili have been donating billions to charity for years in the country and of course, for me, as head of government, this constitutes additional proof that we have a unique insurance in the country in the form of a person, a citizen of Georgia. Wherever the country has a systemic problem, wherever systemic assistance is needed, wherever the state is struggling, this person and this fund provide assistance, and this needs to be duly appreciated. Today, the public sees how this insurance works in real life, rather than in terms of political affectation”, - said Giorgi Gakharia.
