The constitutional amendments must be made and the constitutional amendments will be adopted; this is the position of the ruling team, Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia told journalists today.

As the Head of the Government noted, a proportional electoral system is essential for the further reformation and democratization of the country"s political system.

”As regards my personal, concrete position: I believe that today, at the current stage, the electoral system that was agreed upon is of extreme importance and a matter of principle for the development of the country. This is my fundamental position, which I have repeatedly stated, just as I have said that the proportional electoral system is essential for the further reformation and democratization of our country"s political reality and political space. Everything else amounts to political speculation”, - said Giorgi Gakharia.
